CloseTo celebrate it's 20th anniversary, the collaboration album between Dire Straits' Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris, All The Roadrunning, is reissued on 2LP smoky marble vinyl for Record Store Day 2026. A treasure trove of duets recorded over a period of seven years, All The Roadrunning, was originally released in 2006. It was a Top 10 hit in the UK and #1 in multiple European countries. The album features the title track that reached #8 on the UK singles chart, as well as singles "This Is Us" and "Beachcombing." Speaking at the time, Knopfler, who first met Harris on a Chet Atkins TV special, said "Emmylou's respect and affection for the players and the music struck me then and still does. In my writing, I'd been dealing a fair bit with the male/female shape. With that amazing voice, Emmylou, now more than ever, seems to capture a kind of universal female experience, something that speaks to all ages. After our first session and then making a couple of duets for a Hank Williams tribute, I thought we should go on recording, and thankfully Emmylou felt the same." In Emmylou's words, "Making this album was a pure joy - being surrounded by extraordinary musicians and guided by one of the great artists of our time. Truly it is a gift for which I will always be grateful." Neil McCormick's review of the album for the Telegraph in the UK described it as "one of the best albums of both their careers."
